‘I made N137,000 from fake army recruitment’
The Nigeria Peace Corps, Osun State
Command, has arrested a 26-year-old suspected fake soldier, Sulaimon
Tajudeen, who confessed to have made N137,000 from selling fake
recruitment forms.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Tajudeen was arrested in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, the state capital.
Our correspondent gathered on Tuesday that the suspect claimed he served at a cantonment in the Ojo area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
It was learnt that Tajudeen allegedly sold fake recruitment forms to one Oladapo and obtained N27,500.
He also allegedly obtained N13,500 each from two other victims; N36,000, N15,000 and N4,000 from three others.
Tajudeen said he had wanted to become a soldier.
“I did this to find a means of livelihood. I sold fake army recruitment forms and made N137,000 from the victims,” he added.
The Provost, NPC, Osun State Command,
Oluwaseyi Akintayo, said the suspect had been handed over to the
military authorities in Ede, Osun State, for further interrogation.
