Kano records crime-free sallah
Kano State, on Wednesday, witnessed a
hitch-free Sallah celebrations, as Eid el-Fitr prayers, which signals
the end of Ramadan were peacefully conducted in all Eid prayer grounds
in the state.
The Eid el-Fitr prayers, which were
conducted at about 9:am at Kofar Mata mosque, where the Emir of Kano,
Alhaji Mohammadu Sanusi II worshipped, witnessed a huge turnout with the
Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as members of his
executive council.
In his Sallah message, the Kano
monarch urged Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons learnt during the
Holy month of Ramadan in their daily activities.
He advised them to observe the obligatory six-day fasting in the month of shawaal.
At the Murtala Muhammed mosque at Kumbotso Local Government Area, Eid prayers started at 9am.
The Chief Imam of Murtala mosque,
Sheikh Kabiru Gbadamosi Dadaura, urged the Muslim umar to co-exist
peacefully and tolerate each other, as well as help the less privileged
in their environment.
Similarly, the Kano State Governor,
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in his Sallah message, called on the people
of Kano to imbibe the teachings of the Holy month of Ramadan while
celebrating the Eid el-Fitr festival.
The Governor appealed to motorists to
avoid reckless driving during the celebrations, as well as take care of
their children, so as to ensure that Eid el-Fitr was celebrated
peacefully.
In the same vein, the Chairman of the
Kano State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop
Ransom-Bello, also congratulated Muslims in Nigeria for the successful
completion of the Ramadan period.
Ransom-Bello, who is the General
overseer of Calvary Life Assembly, also congratulated President
Mohammadu Buhari, and all Muslims in Nigeria for their steadfastness
during the Ramadan period.
